    When I phoned the service receptionist advised the recall on the Ranger would take max 1.5 hrs. So I booked it for 10.15am today. Turned up at 10.10am.

    What is the point me enquiring about the length of the job, and making a firm time with my booking, planning my day and then get greeted with such a cavalier attitude by Stillwell.

    The form also said I had read and agreed with the attached conditions (which were not attached). I asked for a copy of the conditions and got a stony silence from Nenad who without any further communication went AWOL for about 10 minutes leaving me to stand at the counter and wonder if asking to see what I was agreeing to was in his view unacceptable.

    I asked, if I wait, how long will changing the seat latch take, will it really take till 5 pm. Basically the answer was, we are very busy and have a lot of vehicles booked in and it could take at least 2 hours - do you want to wait - all said in a "take it or leave it" attitude.

    Having tried to book my two business Ford Rangers in for a seat belt recall, a southern suburbs Ford Dealer made the booking process sound like such an inconvenience to do and said it would be several weeks before we could get them in for a job which would take a few hours.

    Went to the dealership on a Saturday morning. Girl said all salesmen were busy and they were short staffed. Asked if would mind waiting which I did. There were 4 sales men in the tea room at the back talking amongst themselves. These salesman were not even interested who was in the showroom. They walked out, no acknowledgement and servved people who came in after me. These guys not interested at all in customer service. They didn't care about making a sale. I left in disgust and went to another Ford family owned business that was excellent. The rating of 1 was only because showroom was clean. They really need to work on making people feel welcomed. I will never buy a car from this mob.

    Purchased an almost new car from the Medindie site in early June. Was underwhelmed with their customer service throughout their entire process. Sales staff weren't aware of advertised special offer, when raised it with them was first told it was probably a one day offer, then an internet only offer - which no fine print said it was either and clearly said applied to any car bought before June 30. Eventually agreed to providing the offer like they were doing me a favour - even though there was no reason why they shouldn't. Salesperson took an extended call from another customer during my test drive, didn't ask me if I had a trade in and when got back from the test drive assumed it was a done deal and negotiations were over. I paid my deposit and received my trade in payment and as i was leasing the car, was told the total amount would be sent back to me by cheque as no online banking transfer option is offered or available. Was told this process would take 10 days and they joked the company was still in the dark ages. However, it ended up taking 25 days and three phone calls and three emails from me, most of which went unanswered. They finally said it would then be posted that night but I said I would pick it up as I was keen to get MY money back in my account.

    Both recall problems fixed in about 45 minutes and also cleaned a very dirty vehicle which was a pleasant surprise.

    Finally he came back with a tablet and showed me the conditions that I will paraphrase as "any item of value taken from the car and any damage we might do to your vehicle while repairing or testing, you have no recourse against us". I doubt that this would pass consumer protection law standards, let alone common sense.

    My advice: you had better love the car you are buying from them and its not available elsewhere as the customer service experience I received has put a tarnish on the whole experience. Good luck.

    I had been intending to look at a new Ranger and discuss trade in of the 2012 model, but clearly this company does not make the link between satisfied service customers and potential new car sales.
